Las Posadas is a nine-day celebration with origins in Spain, now celebrated chiefly in Mexico, Guatemala and parts of the Southwestern United States, recognizing Mary & Joseph's search for shelter for the birth of baby Jesus.
We all traveled to each of the classroom seeking this shelter.
The head of the procession carried a candle inside a paper lampshade.
Children also carry poinsettias.
And Once shelter was found, we celebrated with a traditional star-shaped Piñata.
We had so much fun hitting Piñata.
Once the Piñata broke open we ran to gather fruit candy hidden inside.
