Diwali, 2012

Today is a special day.  We are celebrating Diwali!

We are making a sand painting called Rangoli.

I love to paint with the sand!

We painted the lamps--Diya

Some of the parents helped us to celebrate and made special snacks.

Everyone was served sweets and savorys.

We wore our special clothes.

These are the treats--Poori and Ladoo.

 How beautiful!!

A Recycling Robot

A robot by the name of MC Blue  came to talk to us about helping our earth stay green.
We all sat in the Gathering Room to hear what he had to say.

He did a wheely dance and sang a rap song about recycling, reuse and reduce.

His mouth glowed red when he talked or sang.

He was made of metal and had a computer in his tummy. He talked about composting our lunch scraps to make new soil.  The computer showed us what to do.

We need to recycle what we can and take care of the earth.

"Bye, MC !!!
