Mudilicious Week

During our last week of summer camp children learned how the mud is made, how it feels, who likes it and who lives in it. We also had some special mud treats. On Wednesday it was a Carnival Day with popcorn, Face Painting, cotton candy and a Clown visit.

Buzzing Bees

Our classrooms turned into busy beehives as we explored the world of bees. Did you know that there are 3 kinds of bees in a beehive? The beehive is a home to one Queen Bee who eats the Royal Jelly and lays eggs, the Male Drones who mostly relax and Female Worker Bees who have many different jobs.  Teachers presented the Life cycle of a Bee- stages of Egg, Larva, Pupa and Adult Bee. Each child tried to be a part of the bee colony, so we had some Nurse Bees feeding the Larva, House Bees cleaning the cells, Guard Bees inspecting who enters the Beehive and Forager Bees who gathered sweet nectar and pollen. We also worked with beeswax, sampled some Honey, and baked delicious Honey Cakes.

Mad Science Visit during Bubble Week

Mad Science dazzled and entertained children with their workshop on "Fire and Ice". Foggy dry ice storms, balls floating in the air and even a special Mad Science “burp” potion amazed children as they learned about chemical reactions, air pressure and the states of matter.

Bubble Week was so much fun! There were bubbles everywhere at the enjoyment of the children.

Our garden is growing beautifully-soon we will sample eggplants and tomatoes!

We have also had 4 birthday celebrations in the same week .
Happy  Birthday to Leo, Dev, Naomi and Jonah!
