In June, the children acted as proud parents of several Caterpillars/Butterflies. They collected Milkweed leaves, and fed them to our new friends. They were also scientists observing all the changes-rapid growth of the caterpillars and then their change into cocoon. Teachers presented lessons and materials including Parts of the Butterfly and Life cycle. As usual all the areas of the classroom were implemented to involve our study subjects for extended learning. Please find below the video of our butterfly using his proboscis to suck on some sweet watermelon juice.
