Drumming with Leo's Dad


Today at the school we had a special visitor! Jeffrey Sieben, Dad of Leo from Robins Class filled our Gathering room with excitement, beat and laughter. Leo's Dad  brought in 3 drums which the kids were able to play: The first was a djembe which is a skin-covered goblet-shaped drum played with bare hands, originally from West Africa.  The second was a cajón (which means “crate" or "box with a hole in it") is a box-shaped percussion instrument originally from Perú.  The last was a Snare Drum which originates from Europe, traditionally this drum was often used to communicate orders to soldiers. Everyone got to play drums, and we have to say there are some naturals as you can see in the videos below.
